ABSTRACT
Heinrich Maria Ledig-Rowohlt is general manager and a partner in Rowohltverlag of Hamburg, one of Germany's leading publishing houses. It was this firm that in 1930 first published Wolfe's Look Homeward Angel in the German language. Mr. Ledig-Rowohlt met and formed a close friendship with Thomas Wolfe in 1938, when the author came to Berlin upon an invitation from Mr. Ledig-Rowohlt's father.
