ABSTRACT
Loren C. Eiseley, now provost of the University of Pennsylvania, was formerly its chairman of the Department of Anthropology. Since his undergraduate years, a dual curiosity in science and literature has enabled Mr. Eiseley to capture the timeless mystery of the earth and its creatures.
