ABSTRACT

This essay calls for a positive engagement with the process of religious transformation. Fensham focuses on the changing situation in the multi-cultural and multi-religious context of Canada today. He points out that the era of established Christianity coincided with the oppressive treatment of Native Americans. Today’s decline is allowing the church to rediscover the message of the gospel and the heart of social justice. Fensham calls for a new religious vitality that has repentance, prayer, faith, hope and love at its core.
