ABSTRACT

This commentary, specimened from more extensive discussion, bears on a segment from the section of the 1973 text ‘L’étourdit’ falling on pp. 19–23 of Scilicet 4 (corresponding to pp. 463–466 of the 2001 reprint in Autres écrits). There, across four paragraphs (from ‘C’est de fait le scandale’ to ‘en passent par la castration’), the scandal of Freud’s psychoanalytic discourse is reiterated in the face of the vicissitudes it took in the 1930s debates on female sexuality and its later smothering and silencing in the post-Freudian IPA.
