ABSTRACT

This chapter reviews the fabrication methods of silicon/polymer composite nanopost arrays, the consequent properties brought by the composite structures, and the related application areas of the silicon/polymer composite nanopost arrays, including sensing, separation, biointerfaces, and photoelectric devices. It provides a summary and perspective of the developing direction of silicon/polymer composite nanopost arrays, including the development trend of fabrication approaches and the broadening of the application fields in the near future. The chapter discusses the fabrication of silicon nanopost arrays and methods to grow polymer on the silicon nanopost arrays herein. It provides a brief introduction about the wetting, optical, and stimuli-responsive properties of these hybrid nanopost arrays. With the help of the variety of polymer and the fast development of microfabrication techniques, silicon/polymer composite nanopost arrays will be attracting the attention of researchers, and series of hybrid nanopost arrays which possess specific properties will be further fabricated and broadly used in the future.
