ABSTRACT
Crime scene investigation is the foundational phase of any forensic investigation. The management – or mismanagement – of a crime scene establishes the quality and quantity of information available for the investigation and ultimately the information available as evidence in court. The proper identification, documentation, collection and preservation of physical evidence at a crime scene are the critical first steps in ensuring the integrity and admissibility of the physical evidence.
