ABSTRACT

Hans Herloff Grelland's Tausheten og øjeblikket. Kierkegaard, Ibsen, Munch appeared in 2007 from Høyskole Forlaget in Norway. Grelland's research interests in this vein have included Einstein's theory of relativity and quantum mechanics as well as experimental mathematics. Grelland's purpose in the book is twofold: to provide an introduction to the work of Søren Kierkegaard and to see how Kierkegaard's work figures in the work of Ibsen and Munch. As Tausheten og øjeblikket is an introduction to the work of Kierkegaard, Grelland's work is a compact but remarkably substantive exploration of key concepts as well as a provocative introduction to Kierkegaard's influence on Norway's leading dramatist and painter. In sum, the book tries to do two different irreconcilable things. On the one hand, it is a general introduction to Kierkegaard, but, on the other hand, it also wants to be a more specialized study of the relations between Kierkegaard and Ibsen and Munch.
