ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book begins with a series of class projects in a class on critical theory and data analysis at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and over time, has blossomed into an amazing project. It provides alternative ways of analyzing data that is deeply related to the critical theory. The book shows how various types of data can be used in critical theory and research, and which theories do and do not relate to particular topics or populations of people. It also provides several examples of how closely critical theory can be used to analyze data. The book also shows the need for theory in driving data analysis and how specific theories shape analysis. It aims to provide ideas for other graduate students, scholars, and researchers to employ when studying with and for marginalized populations.
