ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book provides a detailed account of the Closing the Gap: Test and Learn project from its policy origins to its implementation. It captures the diverse range of outcomes from the Closing the Gap: Test and Learn project, those intended from the Randomised Control Trials but also some outcomes that emerged and evolved over the course of the Closing the Gap: Test and Learn project. The book explores debates about the use of RCTs in education, focusing on CtG as a case study, and engages with the wider issues about the burgeoning use of RCTs in educational research. It attempts to draw out some key themes to show how and the extent to which teachers were mobilised as researchers and how this analysis speaks to the future of research-informed practice in schools.
