ABSTRACT
This chapter explores how preconceptual understandings can be internally represented and externally communicated through the examination of gesture in Indian singing; additionally, preliminary developments towards a research methodology and classification framework integrating gesture, embodiment, expression and audiovisual analysis are employed in three studies.
