ABSTRACT

The wicked problem of climate change requires, among other things, a collective rethinking of the global order of politics. Here we experiment with a feminist geopolitics that creates the appropriate conditions by taking seriously the dynamism of Earth’s systems and their differential effects. Inspired by both feminist geography’s concern with the body and feminist new materialisms, we analyse a series of art–science collaborations evolved by the organization Cape Farewell in the course of its Arctic voyages. We counter the normative geopolitics of climate change and believe this artful feminist geopolitics can respond to the complex challenges of climate change.
