ABSTRACT

On the basis of INFOCORE’s findings, this chapter elaborates on (practical) implications and suggestions concerning three important fields of practice: Journalism, NGOs and politics. In the following, we will discuss the key consequences of selected results for the improvement of:

professional journalism in war and conflict coverage and their specific professional role (including the difficulty to be open but not abandon their professional ethos and adherence to quality and critical distance);

NGOs’ strategic communication and their awareness of the advantages and risks of an increasing blurring of boundaries between media and political actors;

options and possibilities for political actors/decision makers and strategic public communication in politics to build policy capabilities for understanding ongoing conflicts and formulating/implementing suitable policies.
