ABSTRACT
Visual and tactile perceptual actions arise in early childhood as the child m asters grasping and locomotive actions. These actions are his first ways of dealing with space, because it is through grasping and locomotion that he learns to actually represent in his actions such things as spatial location of objects and direction and distance of objects, as well as such object properties as form, size, weight, and density.
