ABSTRACT
Maintaining competency is critical for ethical practice as a school psychologist and updating one’s repertoire with current developments in the field is necessary to maintain competency. Unfortunately, school psychology as a discipline has not traditionally emphasized a model of structured continuous education. This chapter will provide a description of learning and continuing profession development as well as the evolution to current practice models. This chapter will additionally discuss strategies to maintain continuing professional development and resources to improve this model, such as technology.
