ABSTRACT

Technology is being integrated into many facets of school psychology, and as demonstrated by the text, technology applications have several practical uses across consultation, supervision, and training. In addition to teleconsultation and telepresence robotics, there are other contemporary technology-mediated processes that augment the consultative process including data collections apps, video modeling, and bug-in-ear-training. Future applications for technology in consultation include automated behavior measurement and digital voice assistants. Supervisors should continue to consider potential ways to improve the supervision process through incorporating technology. Trainers of school psychologists who incorporate technology in the overall training process are able to provide an enriched experience, spanning the recruitment phase through ongoing professional development for practitioners. The virtual training platforms show great promise for the field of school psychology. Training programs should also consider technology-based training in school psychology, particularly to help assess and progress monitor graduate student skill level and competency throughout their training.
