ABSTRACT

Video modeling is a form of training in which a learner observes images of another person (or themselves) engaging in a target skill or behavior. This methodology has been successfully used to improve the professional skills of educators and other change agents. This chapter will provide an overview of video modeling and detailed variations of the procedure within the framework of educator coaching and feedback. The chapter also identifies critical issues in the effectiveness of video modeling and concludes with recommendations for addressing these issues as well as guidelines for implementation.
