ABSTRACT

Supervision is required in several disciplines as a training process to develop professional competencies. It is critical that professionals receive intensive supervision in the beginning of their careers; however, given the workload of many supervisors (e.g., working across several sites) it can be difficult to meet with all supervisees face-to-face. Telesupervision is a proposed solution to address this problem. This chapter will discuss technologies utilized for telesupervision in practice and strategies for having effective telesupervision. This chapter will also thoroughly discuss various ethical considerations and how to decide if telesupervision is appropriate.
