ABSTRACT

This chapter points out that necessary compromises between revolutionary countries and imperialist countries must be distinguished from collusion and compromise between Soviet revisionism and US imperialism. Chairman Mao has often taught us: We are still in the era of imperialism and the proletarian revolution. On the basis of fundamental Marxist principle, Lenin made a scientific analysis of imperialism and defined "imperialism as the highest stage of capitalism." The great victories won by the people of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia in their war against US aggression and for national salvation have strongly encouraged the people of the world in their revolutionary struggles against imperialism and colonialism. The awakening and growth of the World is a major event in contemporary international relations. The Third World has strengthened its unity in the struggle against hegemonism and power politics of the superpowers and is playing an ever more significant role in international affairs.
