ABSTRACT

Socialism has shown the whole world how the "woman's question" should be solved. It provided the basic conditions for equality: elimination of all forms of exploitation and oppression and the involvement of women in social production and sociopolitical life. The growth of mechanization, the changing character of work, and the improvement of working conditions lend greater urgency to the problem of advanced training for women. Those who would eliminate or restrict female labor have no understanding of the essence of the economic and social processes. The State Committee of the USSR on Labor and Wages, jointly with the All-Union Council of Trade Unions (AUCTU) and with the endorsement of the USSR Ministry of Health, approved a new List of Industries, Trades, and Jobs with Arduous or Harmful Working Conditions, at which female employment is prohibited.
