ABSTRACT
Under Chairman Mao's leadership, a new stage in the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution has begun. The principal characteristic of this new stage is the great alliance of proletarian revolutionaries to seize power from the grasp of a handful of power-holders within the Party taking the capitalist road and the diehards clinging to the bourgeois reactionary line. The People's Liberation Army (PLA) is a revolutionary army of the proletariat fashioned by Chairman Mao's own hands, and it is the principal instrument of the dictatorship of the proletariat. In this great struggle of the proletariat to seize power from the bourgeoisie, the PLA must stand resolutely on the side of the proletarian revolutionaries and support and aid resolutely the proletarian revolutionary left. Recently, Chairman Mao directed that the PLA should support the broad masses of the left. Henceforth, wherever there are genuine revolutionaries who seek the army's support and aid, their demands should be satisfied.
