ABSTRACT

The army is a great school for the study of Mao Tse-tung thought, for the implementation of Mao Tse-tung thought, for the propagation of Mao Tse-tung thought, and for the safeguarding of Mao Tse-tung thought. Chairman Mao's thought on army-building is diametrically opposed to the purely military viewpoint, which considers only military matters and entirely disregards politics, and which considers the army's task to be limited entirely to combat duties. The tiny handful of bourgeois representatives who wormed their way into our army always stepped forward and tried to stir up trouble whenever the class struggle grew very intense. However, under the radiant light of great Mao Tse-tung thought, the broad masses of cadres and soldiers in our army, including some who were temporarily misled, have invariably been able to detect their ugly faces, expose them to the light of day, and frustrate their plots.
