ABSTRACT
This chapter presents activity for counselors-in-training to engage in a sociodrama to increase awareness of how political actions contribute to the oppression of specific groups. This activity focuses specifically on Donald Trump’s Executive Order 13769, commonly referred to as the “Muslim ban.” Overall time estimate to complete activity is 45 to 60 minutes. More time would be needed if the group is larger or more advanced in its counselor training. The ideal location to conduct the activity is a classroom with enough open space for participants to move around freely. The greater the number of participants the larger the amount of open space is needed.
