ABSTRACT

Facilitate conversation among students about ways to utilize their strengths to advocate for others and assist with social justice issues. Encourage students to think critically about ways to apply their strengths to advocate for a specific social justice issue. This activity is appropriate for students in any beginning or advanced counseling course with a social justice element. Provide students time to share about their mandalas either in pairs, in small groups, or as a whole depending on the class size, setting, and student demographics. The words listed in the Character Strengths Menu can be adjusted depending on the demographics of the participating students and the focus of the counseling class in which the activity is carried out.
