ABSTRACT

This chapter demonstrates an understanding of group theory and assesses how group theory needs to be applied to work with diverse populations. The focus of Multicultural activity is to have students understand how to integrate real-world needs of the populations they will serve with group theory. Students taking group counseling classes, preferably after completing their multicultural counseling course. At the beginning of the class, the instructor should divide the class into groups based on the theories they will be covering during the semester. Students are able to use whatever means of presentation they would like to ensure that the class stays interested and focused. The instructor should probe the students after completing the presentation.
