ABSTRACT
This chapter analyzes the views of environmental professionals on possibilities and obstacles for the integration of environmental issues in the planning process. The aim is to provide an empirical picture of the practical experience of some Swedish environmental planners. We will focus on some of the problems that arise when new knowledge and perspectives are to be integrated in the planning process. Our aim is to describe the tension between different professional actors and describe some of the conditions for professional interaction and professional development.
