ABSTRACT

The cross-border e-commerce as a new type of trade and new business model works differently from the traditional trade. The cross-border e-commerce relies on the Internet and international logistics, connecting directly with the final consumers to satisfy their needs. China's cross-border e-commerce can be divided into two categories by the operation mode: cross-border B2B and cross-border e-tailing. From the perspective of the market layout, the cross-border B2B mode has always dominated China's cross-border e-commerce, accounting for over 90 percent of the market. To better deal with the development trends of China's cross-border e-commerce transaction platforms, the following aspects need to be taken into consideration. First, for the benefit of long-term development, it is essential to ensure product quality, strengthen brand building and enhance capabilities in market expansion and services to clients. Second, to bring better service to overseas customers, capable enterprises should build or rent more overseas warehouses, improve logistics and after-sale services and reduce logistics costs.
