ABSTRACT
Are we only our bodies? When we read about the history of the resurrection of the dead in early Jewish and Christian writings alongside the story of the zombie body, we witness how, like all bodies, these stories are ever growing and transforming. This article examines the origins and transformation of life after death through bodies in ancient Judaism and early Christianity and how these religious origins relate to the cultural transformation of the zombie body.
