ABSTRACT

Grounded in Kolb’s (1984) Experiential Learning Cycle, the Activities/Learning Mode Assessment (ALMA) aligns instructional methods with each of the four main learning preferences – diverging, assimilating, converging, and accommodating – simplifying the instructional design process for CCCTTS while improving the likelihood of participant learning. By using the ALMA, CCCTTs are able to document instructional strategies, self-assess the strength of each strategy to facilitate learning, as well as respond to guided self-reflection questions related to the training experience.
