ABSTRACT

This chapter describes political decisions taken by the Council regarding the traffic plan to improve environmental conditions in central Karlstad, April, 1995 and introductory questionnaire to households and work-places, spring 1995. It discusses idea competition at work-places to obtain innovative ways of working with attitudes and behaviour patterns. The intent is to utilise the 'expertise' which can be found at workplaces, autumn 1995. The chapter explains transport advisory service for work-places so that, through dialogue, journeys to and from work as well as journeys connected with work can be looked over, autumn 1996 - summer 1997. It explores future local transport council/forum, autumn 1997 and new questionnaire for households and work-places, spring 1998. In the autumn of 1993, it was reported in both national and regional newspapers that the highest levels of hydrocarbons in the country had been measured in central Karlstad. This caused a reaction amongst politicians.
