ABSTRACT
The resulting conflicts, instability and stagnation o f national development have plagued the country for years. The national question therefore involves the search for an effective formula for integrating diverse units o f a highly heterogeneous society, with a view to creating a sense o f belonging and cohesion, borne out o f equity in the inter-relationships o f such affiliations in all facets o f national life.
