ABSTRACT
Content-area teachers do not just teach their content. They must make sure that their students learn. While numerous strategies to support student learning have been introduced and researched over the past two decades, strategies alone are not sufficient. This chapter explores how content teachers can better engage students in reading and learning from texts.
