ABSTRACT
This contribution concerns the issue of ‘exegesis’ in the Old Greek version of the book of Zechariah (LXX-Zechariah). To what extent or in which respect does LXX-Zechariah testify to early exegesis, and to which type of exegesis? A crucial question is, of course, how to find traces of exegesis. The method of analysis of the Greek version will be the subject matter of the first part of this paper. The second part will contain an application of the method described to a certain passage in LXX-Zechariah (9:9-10). Since the Greek version of this book is part of LXX-Minor Prophets (LXX-MP), which is to be regarded as the work of one translator,1 LXX-Zechariah will be dealt with as part of LXX-MP.
