ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses organizational hormone effects on implicit motive development, focusing on the need for power. We briefly introduce implicit motives, organizational hormone effects, and some of their common markers, especially second-to-fourth-digit length ratio (2D:4D) and facial width-to-height ratio (fWHR). Building on previous research (e.g., Schultheiss & Zimni, 2015, 2D:4D; Janson et al., 2018, fWHR), we present a biopsychosocial model of implicit motive development, with organizational hormone effects and brain lateralization preceding and channeling social learning influences on motives.
