ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts of the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book discusses cultural responsiveness through its various dimensions: a focus on validating education; multidimensional and comprehensive approaches to learning; and transforming, empowering and emancipatory experiences in learning. It focuses on how spaces are successfully created for culturally responsive education in schools, teacher education and higher education. The book calls for a greater responsiveness in education, including learning contents, environments and pedagogical solutions, particularly in teacher education. The culturally responsive education network focused on how to foster cultural responsiveness in education, teacher training and in schools through a qualitative research approach. The book aims to develop the knowledge-based economy in low-income countries in the Global South by adding a cultural strategy which is mindful of these countries' cultural context. The culturally responsive education network has been beneficial in numerous ways.
