ABSTRACT

The goals of nutrition in basketball are focused on maximizing speed, agility and power of players. There is especial interest on covering the energy needs before, during and after training and matches. Therefore, having a good nutritional plan in advance can be the key to achieve optimal performance and recovery. Similarly, players should be guided in the supplements they can use in order to improve their performance and recovery. But in this sense, a clear message must be given in order to explain that a supplement will never replace an adequate food choice or healthy diet.
