ABSTRACT
During the first 30 years of the 20th century, small-scale mechanisms were set up to provide protection in old age. The Second Republic saw the first attempts to create a modern social security system, but the civil war put an end to this. The 1940s and 1950s saw the introduction of a few, limited mutual social security systems. Lessenich believes that the distribution of roles between the state and the market and the configuration of social rights in Spain have undergone fundamental changes over the past 20 years. During the second half of the 1970s, a period that coincided with a sharp rise in unemployment and a poor protection system, workers rediscovered workers' limited companies. The San Fermin Project Association is a non-profit association located in the Usera municipal district to the south of Madrid. This association was set up by the people of the San Fermin district with the twofold objective of community support and development and socio-employment integration.
