ABSTRACT

The final chapter reflects on the content of the book and draws together four key themes. These are (1) the importance of studying property crime; (2) the many ‘faces’ of property crime; (3) the need for early intervention and diverse, multi-agency approaches to tackling property crime; and (4) a two-pronged approach to preventing property crime. Each theme is discussed with links made to earlier chapters and the academic literature. The chapter also includes a ‘roadmap’ for future research, which it is hoped will stimulate future work to address the (many) gaps that still remain in our knowledge and understanding of property crime.
