ABSTRACT

Applying two analytic tools—frame and stakeholder analysis, respectively—to the analysis of collaborations beyond those of teachers and musicians alone, this chapter identifies what different groups of individuals likely bring to the table when setting arts advocacy goals. In all cases, each group tends to articulate and stand for different values that should be considered of equal weight, thus requiring negotiation and the willingness to place other values over one’s own. Consequences for specific arts advocacy projects and transformative pedagogies are suggested as being the inevitable result.
