ABSTRACT

This chapter deals with conditions for presenting professional performances to secondary school audiences in settings they are requested to attend. At stake are settings where teachers and students meet visiting artists on the day they present a performance with music that students usually do not listen to. The discussion concerns approaches that may facilitate musicians and teachers to interact in ways that offer students opportunities to have moving experiences with the music. The chapter draws on a case study with two Swedish musicians and a teacher, all of them experienced in this field.
