A major question in The Resilience Programme – as in other pedagogical and didactical contexts – is whether it is possible to apply the methods in relation to people who have other, completely different preconditions to cope with, compared to the general population, such as children and young people with special needs, physical or psychological disabilities and diagnoses. In a number of the municipalities that eventually took on the resilience perspective and tools, we found them using the methods precisely for these target groups – in special needs classes, special needs schools and special needs institutions. In this chapter, we present an example from a large special needs school. In addition, we present the development of resilience in the siblings of disabled children and their parents.
