ABSTRACT

Substantial demand for the well-designed “clever” technological tools exists – there are of course substantially many more bedrooms than professional studios. A “clever” technological tool is therefore a product that can automate certain production strategies or tasks. Expertise is built into the product in order to enable functions that are designed to enhance music or sound quickly, as well as be simple to apply, and this helps with creating the perception that they are important to creative flow and production realization. As music production tools have become “cleverer”, so too have tools from other disciplines. Just as the broadening out from the studio into the bedroom has opened up accessibility for engaging in producing music, computer coding is no longer solely for the computer scientist. The ease of access to “clever” tools and social technologies has certainly seen the numbers of budding music producers.
