ABSTRACT

Public health programing and policy is dependent upon sound evidence-based practices in order to drive change. Advanced public health agencies are intentional about leveraging resources from federal, state, local and private organizations in order to collectively drive community health transformation. It’s obvious that demographics, culture and behaviors amongst populations can vary depending on the location in which these populations live. Thus, not only are public health professionals tasked with the necessity of identifying needs for improvement, but they must depend on collaborative public health evidence-based practices to help drive programmatic success at their level and in their location. The evidencebased practices must prove the outcome of interest through collection of data at pre-identifi ed intervals during the study process, and maintain protocol fi delity through continuous quality evaluation, data accuracy and thorough evaluation processes. Thus, the public health professional must utilize evidence-based practice to impact their chosen demographic and population of choice.
