ABSTRACT

When speaking of the pagans of a community it is necessary to realize that there are many different sects of paganism. The most familiar to those outside of the pagan community is that of Wicca, which is the term used for those who follow the pagan path of Earth worship. There are many more types of pagans, but they all have a core system of belief surrounding the concept of life and death. The fear of death that is found in those who follow the pagan path is often one developed by a Western concept with which most have been raised. One factor typified all of the faiths—they believed that the spirit did not cease to exist once the body had died. It is fair to state that most pagan religions realized the concept of reincarnation renewing itself from watching the Earth move from her dormant to fertile period, and then back again, in a never-ending Wheel of Life.
