ABSTRACT
The quoted remark made by Dr. Robert E. Scully to a trainee is only one of many examples of the gentle character of a stalwart member of the department of Pathology at the MGH for 54 years. A native of Massachusetts and 1944 graduate of Harvard Medical School, Dr. Scully trained at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, but spent his entire postgraduate career at the MGH with the exception of two years in the armed services during the Korean conflict.
