ABSTRACT
According to many reports, Ghana’s health system is underperform-ing. Although it performs reasonably well in comparison with other sub-Saharan African countries, when compared with other countries with similar incomes and health expenditures, such as Tunisia, Thailand, and the Kyrgyz Republic, its health outcomes for child and maternal mortality are worse (Saleh 2012).
