ABSTRACT

Origen of Alexandria is one of the most influential Christian theologians in history. Yet, his appearances in Kierkegaard’s writings are infrequent and of secondary interest. The fact of the matter, however, is that Origen does emerge in a variety of Kierkegaard’s writings, and examining his scant attention to Origen tends to reveal a surprising amount of information about several of the issues and themes that are most important to both Origen and Kierkegaard.
