ABSTRACT

Cities are subjects to urban trends with major future implications in their effort to satisfy the needs and wants of present (potential) urban customers, having as ultimate goal the promotion of urban community prosperity. One may wonder: Can the cultural heritage-as that part of the past, employed for contemporary aims (Ashworth and Graham 2005)—be put in good use in order to contribute to a harmonious development of the ever-changing city? This chapter develops a ‘city hospitality’ approach to this and related questions.
