ABSTRACT

Stephanie Koerner (SK): Yes, but if we started that at this point it might make another volume, and you said we wanted to close this one off with something ‘up beat’.

IR: A number of chapters in the final section do this. Many of them build upon presentations from the conference where we first discussed doing this volume. We were at the meeting of the European Association of Archaeologists (EAA) in Krakow, Poland, in September 2006. With John Carman you organised a session entitled ‘The Unquiet Past: Cultural Heritage and the Uncertainties of ‘Risk Society’’ and Tim Darvill was the discussant.
