ABSTRACT

This itinerant exhibition for the Luxembourg government travelled to various European capital cities. Art works of 10 centuries from the Grand Duchy were displayed inside, outside or on the walls of over 100 one-room treasure houses. The pavilions were arranged into town-like assemblies forming small squares, winding streets and passages. The tower was 35m high. Each exhibit, sculpture, painting, town or building model and piece of furniture had a unique location, an address. The innovative exhibition concept avoids the degrading and tiresome line ups on display – walls so sadly familiar from art galleries and museums, old and new.
