ABSTRACT
Like many rail systems around the World, the UK Rail network is reliant on human behaviour and the attainment and maintenance of consistently high task reliability. Despite increased use of train protection systems and driver assistance devices on trains, drivers are fundamental to safe train operations, as are signallers, despatchers, electrical control and maintenance personnel.
